Oiling the Gears of Change - Its Time

I think this victory is the step, push, kick we needed to fall into place and help move everyone in the right direction. As a black woman, mother and American citizen am an overwhelmed with joy and jubilance that words can’t express.

Barak represents what we all have been lacking for sometime; Families believing in each other, standing side to side helping each other along, people being friendly and neighborly to one another. I would like to see the “village” come back together and put true values back into our youth, I would like to see our men and boys absorb this new sense of pride and accomplishment and take it back to help positively influence those around them. I staill have fond memories of growing up knowing everyone in the neighborhood and having most of those neighbors know and respect my grandparents. As if they were their own.

Please remember that racism in its purest form is that which separates us from ourselves. Its been setup to make us hate each other. When we don’t know our fathers, grandfathers or our history how can we truly know ourselves. We are resilient and can get through almost anything, but lets instead use that strength to  channel positivity &  to build on the future. Barak has laid a new foundation and I am ready to build on that. Are You?
